FOOD INSTITUTE of MALAYSIA (FIM)
FOREMOST FOR CULINARY, FOOD & HOSPITALITY COURSES
Institut Makanan Malaysia or famously known as Food Institute of Malaysia (FIM), was founded in January 1998 with the primary vision of training students to become professionals in the food industry. FIM has successfully produced thousands of graduates in the field of culinary, pastry & bakery, foodservice management as well as hotel and tourism.
The diploma programmes offered at FIM have obtained full accreditation from the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and are approved by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE). Apart from diploma programmes, FIM also offers short-term programmes as well as other courses related to the food industry. FIM is also a Food Handler Training School (SLPM) recognised by the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH).
Diploma Courses
FIM offers five (5) fields of study, namely: Culinary Arts, Pastry & Bakery, Foodservice Management, Hotel Management, and Tourism Management.
Short-term Courses
Among the short-term courses offered at FIM are Certificates of Attendance in Western Cuisine, Malay Cuisine, Pastry & Bakery and Foodservice Supervision.
In addition, FIM also offers a Food Handler Course, which is a compulsory course for all food handlers under the Ministry of Health Malaysia (Food Hygiene Regulations 2009)
